PST Isn't Simple - Ask the Canadian Federation of Independent Business

When you work in the field of taxes everyday, a very minor mistake can mean a lot.

Take a recent Opinion Article in the Burnaby Now about taxes written by a representative of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business stated:

“.. If you buy a chair, for example, the manufacturer pays PST on the wood, nails, upholstery and stuffing that go into making it..”

Firstly, this is absolutely not how the PST works or at least is supposed to work.

Secondly, this manufacturer has clearly not had LWA assist them in taxes because they’re overpaying PST significantly.

There’s no doubt, the PST is a complicated system. All the more reason to have us review your procedures.
